Meeting Point and Tour Logistics
Meeting Point: The tour begins at 6:45 AM at our reservation office located in Plaza Regocijo, near the Plaza de Armas in Cusco.
No Hotel Pickup: Due to heavy traffic in Cusco between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM, we do not offer hotel pickup service for this tour.
Convenient Start: We meet directly at our office at 6:45 AM for a timely start.

End of Tour or Return:
End Time and Place: The tour ends between 6:30 PM and 7:00 PM at Plaza Regocijo, near the Plaza de Armas.
Return to Ollantaytambo: There is an option to end the tour in Ollantaytambo at 3:30 PM if you plan to travel to Machu Picchu or explore the town. If you choose to stay in Ollantaytambo, you will not visit Pisac, as it is on the route back to Cusco.

Additional Details:
Daily Departures: We offer daily departures. You can book online or at our office in Cusco until 9:00 PM the day before the tour.
Group Size: Groups typically consist of 14 to 16 participants, with a maximum of 19, all accompanied by a bilingual guide in English and Spanish.
Lunch Included: Enjoy a buffet lunch with options for vegetarians, vegans, and gluten-free diets at no extra cost (please inform us in advance).
Free Luggage Storage: Store your luggage at our central Cusco office from 7:00 AM or from 4:45 AM to 5:15 AM before your tour.
Direct Tour Operator: We are a local operating company, so when you book, you do it directly with us.
BTG (General Tourist Ticket): If you do not have a tourist ticket, you can purchase it at the first site of the tour (Chinchero). The partial ticket costs 70 soles, and the full ticket is 130 soles (cash only in soles is accepted).

Changes in the Reservation:

You can modify the date of your tour or switch to a similar tour (such as Palcoyo, Laguna Humantay, Sacred Valley, or 7 Lagoons) at no extra cost until 7:00 PM the day before the tour begins. To make changes, send an email to booking@exploreperu360.com.

Cancellations and Refunds:
Full Refund: Cancellations made up to 24 hours before the tour will receive a 100% refund.
Partial Refund: Cancellations within 24 hours but before 7:00 PM the day before will receive a 50% refund.
No Refund: Cancellations made after 7:00 PM the day before are not eligible for a refund.

Itinerary of the Sacred Valley of the Incas Tour

Start Time: The tour begins at 7:00 a.m. at our office, located at Portal Nuevo 270, Plaza Regocijo, Cusco.

First Stop: Chinchero

After a journey of approximately 45 minutes, we will arrive in Chinchero. Here, our guide will show you the Inca archaeological site and the ancient colonial church. Additionally, we will visit a local family to witness how they make traditional textiles using natural dyes, a tradition passed down through generations.

Second Stop: Moray

We will continue to Moray, where we will explore its impressive circular terraces built by the Incas. This site served as an ancient agricultural experimental station showcasing the Incas’ advanced knowledge of cultivation in different microclimates. You will have time to take photographs and walk around while our guide shares the fascinating history of the place.

Third Stop: Salineras de Maras

Next, we will visit the salt mines of Maras, where you will learn about the ancient salt extraction process that is still practiced today. Here, you can see and purchase unique handicrafts made from salt. Take this opportunity to capture memorable photographs of this singular landscape.

Fourth Stop: Lunch in Urubamba

Around 12:30 p.m., we will enjoy a buffet lunch in the picturesque town of Urubamba. The lunch offers options for vegetarians, vegans, and gluten-free diets (please inform us in advance if you have any dietary restrictions).

Fifth Stop: Ollantaytambo

After lunch, we will head to Ollantaytambo, where we will tour its archaeological site around 3:00 p.m. This Inca site was an important fortress and one of the few places where the Incas successfully defeated the Spaniards in battle. If you wish to conclude your tour in Ollantaytambo, you may choose to stay, allowing you to explore the town further or continue your journey to Machu Picchu.

Sixth Stop: Pisac

Finally, we will visit Pisac, famous for its agricultural terraces and extensive archaeological zone. Here, our guide will take you to explore the site, and you will have time to take stunning photographs. Pisac is one of the best places to appreciate the Incas’ skills in agriculture and engineering.

Return Time:

We plan to return to Cusco around 6:30 p.m., after a day full of discoveries through the most iconic sites of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Important Trip Details:

  • Travel Time Between Destinations: Varies between 30 minutes and 1 hour by car. During these journeys, you will enjoy the breathtaking views of the Sacred Valley.
  • Time at Each Site: You will have between 30 minutes and 1 hour to explore each site and understand its historical and cultural significance.
  • Tourist Ticket: If you do not have your tourist ticket yet, you can purchase it in Chinchero, our first stop on the tour. This ticket is necessary to access the archaeological sites in the Sacred Valley.

TOURIST TICKET FOR THE SACRED VALLEY AND CUSCO

To access the archaeological sites of the Sacred Valley and Cusco, it is necessary to purchase a Tourist Ticket. Tickets can be purchased in person at the municipality office in the city of Cusco or at the first site you visit; just make sure to bring cash in soles.

General Tourist Ticket (BGT) – 130 Soles: This ticket is valid for 10 days and grants access to 16 locations throughout the Cusco region. It covers key sites in the Sacred Valley such as Chinchero, Moray, Ollantaytambo, and Pisac, as well as sites in Cusco like Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pucapucara, Tambomachay, and six museums in the city. It also includes attractions in the south like Tipón and Pikillacta.

Partial Tourist Ticket (PTT) – 70 Soles: Valid for 2 days, this ticket provides access to four specific sites depending on the selected area. For the Sacred Valley, it includes Chinchero, Moray, Ollantaytambo, and Pisac.

Choose the ticket that best fits your itinerary to fully experience the rich history and culture of the Cusco region. Please note that tickets must be purchased as general or partial; single site tickets are not available. Choose the option that best suits your visit.

Clothing: The weather in the Sacred Valley is cool and can vary, so it is recommended to dress in layers. Bring:

  • T-shirt and sweater to adapt to temperature changes.
  • Waterproof jacket or poncho for rain.
  • Comfortable pants and sports shoes or comfy walking shoes.

Sun Protection: Due to the altitude and strong sun exposure, it is essential to:

  • Use high-protection sunscreen.
  • Bring sunglasses and a hat or cap to shield yourself from the sun.

Camera: Don’t forget your camera or smartphone to capture the spectacular landscapes and historical sites of the Sacred Valley.

Cash: Bring cash in soles to:
